At Animal Behaviour Kent, we specialise in helping cats with serious behaviour challenges, not just basic training. Daniel Shaw MSc, CDBC is an experienced cat behaviourist with a background in neuroscience, psychology, and the science of feline behaviour. He has helped countless owners regain harmony at home using a science-backed, practical approach designed for lasting change.
Common Cat Behaviour Challenges We Help With:
✔ Fighting between cats at home – Tension, chasing, hissing, or full-blown fights.
✔ Litter tray problems – Toileting in inappropriate locations.
✔ Aggression towards people – Biting, scratching, or sudden attacks.
✔ Fearfulness – Hiding and avoidance behaviour.
No two cats are the same, and every case is unique. Whether your cat is showing aggression, struggling with their litter tray, or experiencing conflict with other cats in the home, we’ll help you understand their behaviour and create a personalised plan for long-term solutions.

"Daniel has been amazing in helping me with my cat who become very difficult after he was unwell. I had one session face to face and from there within a few weeks all my problems was sorted and my cat is even better then he was before. Thank you so much."

✔ Initial Case Review (30 minutes) – A focused online session with one of our team of behaviourists to gather essential background information, explore your cat’s current behaviour concerns, and consider the wider context of health, environment, and household dynamics. This session is designed to help clarify whether behaviour support is appropriate at this stage.
✔ What this session covers – Discussion of likely contributing factors, including stress, pain, or environmental pressures, an overview of realistic expectations and prognosis in cases like yours, and guidance on whether further behaviour support is likely to be helpful or whether alternative support should be prioritised first.
✔ Online consultation – Delivered via video call, allowing us to review your situation and advise on next steps without committing to a full behaviour support session.

✔ Behaviour Support Session (1.5-2 hours) – A comprehensive session focused on understanding your cat’s behaviour, environment, and history, and supporting practical, welfare led behaviour change. Sessions may involve assessment, skills building, review of progress, or adjustment of existing strategies depending on your cat’s needs at that stage.
✔ What this session may include – Behaviour history and context, discussion of contributing factors such as health, stress, and the home environment, practical guidance and training where appropriate, and realistic support strategies tailored to your household. Session notes are shared via email following the session.
✔ Home visits or virtual consultations – Cat behaviour support is offered either virtually or in your home, depending on what is most appropriate for the case. Home visits are subject to an additional travel charge. Please see the areas we cover below.
